Summary of Position

The class president provides overall leadership, initiates class activities, oversees reunion plans, and, in conjunction with other class leaders, develops class strategies. The president meets regularly with all class officers to oversee duties of their offices. The president is responsible for coordinating regular communication among all officers. The president monitors budget, dues payment participation, and attendance at reunions, and class activities. The president should communicate regularly with the designated mentor from the CACO Board.

The president will be responsible for writing and editing correspondence to classmates. The president will represent the class in small and large group settings.

The president will lead and oversee the class officer initiatives and the class meetings, which occur at least once a year at CALC. The president will host conference calls with the executive committee to ensure the completion of assigned tasks. The president will work closely with university staff liaisons and the CACO Board mentor.

The president will represent the class at Cornell functions and will engage classmates through class membership, events and other class initiatives. The class president will encourage classmates to pay their class dues, attend Reunion and support the Annual Fund. The class president will play a key role in developing future leaders and ensuring a robust succession plan.
