Summary of Position

The Immediate Past Convener of the Cornell Alumni Advisory Board (CAAB) serves an ex-officio member for the first year of the subsequent project. The Immediate Past Convener serves as a resources to the newly appointed Convener and guides them in best practices for achieving a successful CAAB project. The Immediate Past Convener will also make recommendations of current CAAB members to serve as Convener as well as serves on the CAAB Nomination & Selection Committee which reviews all the nominations for CAAB Board Member positions and makes recommendations for selections.

Shares best practices for holding successful CAAB working group meetings. Makes recommendations to Alumni Affairs Leadership Team. All members are expected to participate in Advisory Board meetings and maintain communication with other members throughout the year.

Serves on the committee who selects incoming CAAB Board Members. Participates in CAAB meetings as an ex-officio member.

Adivises Incoming Convener. As a highly-informed leader, the Immediate Past Convener serves as an ambassador to other groups at Cornell, and in some cases update these groups on the work of CAAB, as well as to people in their business networks and home comunities. Encourage participation of committee peers, actively listen and respond to insights and recommendations of others, and seek ways to collaborate.
