Summary of Position

The Chair of the Cornell University Council serves as the leader of the Cornell University Council Administrative Board. The Chair creates, implements, and oversees initiatives for the Council based on the strategic direction set forth by the university.

The Chair represents the work and impact of the Cornell University Council in individual, small and large group settings, including Trustee-Council Annual Meeting (TCAM).

The Chair leads and oversees the efforts of the Administrative Board, which meets four times a year. The Chair hosts monthly conference calls with the Vice Chairs to ensure the completion of initiatives, and serves as the host of TCAM. The Chair works closely with university leaders to identify and implement new initiatives.

The Chair represents the Cornell University Council at Cornell functions and encourages Council members to participate actively in Council initiatives, including the Ambassador Program, attendance at TCAM, nomination of new members, and support of the Cornell Annual Fund. The chair will also serve on the FHTR selection committee.
