Summary of Position

The Chair role for the Membership Committee is to focus on the membership process. The Chair of the Membership Committee oversees a group of appointed Administrative Board elected members to review and recommend a slate of nominees for membership-at-large and life membership on the Cornell University Council. Encourage the submission of nominations for Council.

Manage Projects
With the collaboration and support of the committee, develop, implement, and oversee a work plan. Organize and run meetings, and provide frequent updates to the Chair and Vice Chairs of the Administrative Board on membership.

Work with university staff and members to encourage nominations and provide feedback on the status of nominations.

Other Meeting Details: From November through March, the committee meets through monthly conference calls for the identification and selection of new members. The Chair is in active communication with the university staff liaison throughout the year to prepare, steward and implement the membership plan.
