Summary of Position

A Team Leader or co-Team Leader is responsible for coordinating one of the teams or committees whose function and activity relates to specific projects and initiatives of the HEAA Board. They manage the implementation of activity and carry out annual activities associated with their team.

Team leaders will assist the office of Alumni Affairs & Development in communication with alumni and/or students for team-related initiatives and present team reports at board meetings and conference calls. There will also be occasion at events with alumni and/or students to speak about the HEAA and special team projects.

Team leaders are responsible for setting, implementing, and reporting on annual team goals. They take the initiative to regularly communicate and meet with their team and oversee the team’s annual projects and initiatives. Team leaders are members of the board’s Executive Committee and present team reports at their monthly conference calls.

Team leaders encourage team participation and delegate responsibilities to all team members. As a “team” leader they are expected to orient the new team members, coach team members about their role, duties, and expected level of activity, and mentor members for future leadership opportunities.
