Summary of Position

The President serves as the leader of the CACO Board, comprised of up to 20 voting members. The Board provides guidance and suggestions for lifelong engagement of class officers. They mentor and support class presidents and class initiatives, develop training programs for alumni volunteers, work with the Cornell Annual Fund to promote annual giving, and take action to support other university priorities and initiatives. The President presides at Board meetings and at CACO's Annual Meeting at CALC. The President participates as a member of all focus areas headed by CACO Vice Presidents - Communications; Diversity and Inclusion; Leadership Development; Membership; and Students and Young Alumni.

The President will represent the work and impact of CACO in individual, small and large group settings, including CALC. The President will also craft and send out communications to class officers on a variety of topics. The President represents CACO on several other volunteer leadership organizations. The President will lead and oversee the efforts of the Board, which meets 4 times a year. The President often joins in conference calls with the Vice Presidents to ensure the completion of initiatives, and will serve as the host of CACO-sponsored events during CALC and at Cornelliana Night at Reunion. The President will work closely with the Office of Alumni Affairs to identify and implement new initiatives. The President represents CACO on several other volunteer leadership organizations. The President will represent CACO at CALC and other Cornell functions. The President will engage Board members to create training programs and network with class officers to increase engagement and support of the Annual Fund. The President will also serve as a liaison to 5 assigned classes.
